The magic of...

Happiness. This is what I've been feeling all week and it's the most amazing emotion that we're lucky enough to have the chance to feel. It's a feeling of hope, of love...a feeling that we should all allow ourselves to feel as often as possible. Life is magical and I'm truly blessed. I'm soaking in and loving the magic of Happiness.

Simplicity

It's a Virtue


I'm currently playing the waiting game with a few things in my life and It's made me realize that I have absolutely no patience. It really is a great talent to possess and I tip my hat to anyone who has mastered the art of patiently waiting. With everything becoming so technically advanced, most things don't require a long wait anymore, we no longer have to sit around and drive ourselves insane waiting, because we have all the answers right at our finger tips, however their those few things that will always require us to play the waiting game and to be honest it's driving me up a wall! So to take my mind off the inevitable wait, I've been focusing on the simple thing's and putting my energy into the small happy moments the day brings: afternoon swims, going to the gym, trying new recipes,...because after all it's the simple moments that make us the happiest. fingers crossed this game ends soon.

La Dolce Vita

So my blog has gone under a little make-over, thought it was time for a change and since I've begun my new journey, I figured i'd take my blog with me and indulge it with it's own something new.I know I haven't blogged in awhile but I've been busy soaking in this new life of mine, getting use to being a wife and taking in every step of this amazing chapter. I've never been happier and tomorrow has never looked so bright, so with that being said, I thought I'd share some of my new happy boosters.

-Never waking up alone 
-The smell of Coffee at the break of dawn 
-Packing beach bags for a beach day in the middle of the week 
-Making dinner together 
-Long drives with no destination 
-The smell of clean sheets and nothing to do but lay in them 
-When the laundry is done, the house is cleaned, dinner is cooked and there's nothing left to do but take a long hot (lavender infused) bath alone (or together) :)
-Playing our "Lazy day" playlist on Sunday mornings
-Quiet evenings sitting on the balcony with just a book and a glass of wine
-Lit candles 
-Surprise date nights 
-Grocery shopping (surprisingly it makes me smile)
-Hearing his truck pull in every evening
-Writing my name with a "Mrs."
-Being introduced as...His wife 

...This list can go on forever, I'm living La Dolce Vita and it feels so good :)

Almost there

So we're finally down to the last numbers in our count down and our wedding is now 3 days away! Words cannot even begin to describe the level of excitement I'm feeling. After a whole year of planning we're finally here
and I can't believe how far we've come together. I'm so ready to start this new chapter of our story!

Perfume Signatures

Every lady has her signature scent, the one she always spritzes before a night on the town, a first date or just to boost her mood. I personally can't just choose one, so I switch my scents up depending on the direction my mood decides to swing, so with that being said, here are some of my favorite signatures.

This scent inspires love and romance,with it's captivating charm and elegance. 
It truly captures the dazzling spirit of Dior. 
Miss Dior, One of my All time favorite scents. 

What do I wear to bed? Chanel No.5 of course-Marilyn Monroe 
This scent is simply timeless.

It's been bringing me smiles since the day it came on the market in 2002.

This scent has been boosting my mood for years.

This is a new addition to my collection of signatures.

Dancing with angels

Six years ago on this day, I lost three friends to a car accident on the highway. I still remember their faces and their smiles and I still think about and pray for them. Nothing can describe the feeling of losing someone but it's even harder to describe when you lose someone suddenly, It's a pain that never fades and a space that never fills. Life is short and precious, don't waste your days, Free your heart from negativity and regret and Live your life to it's extreme fullest, love with everything you have and laugh every chance you get. I live my life for the souls I've lost because they never got the chance to live theirs. Keep dancing with those angels boys, until we meet again. R.I.P Dwayne <3, Alex and Shane.

The right to life

A baby's heart starts beating 18 days from conception, a baby's brainwave can be detected 6 weeks from conception and by 9 weeks your baby will have developed all the structures necessary for pain sensation and functioning, with that being said i'd like to state that i'm fully for pro-life. Life is Life no matter how soon it starts and every unborn child should have the opportunity to live. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness, without life no other rights have meaning.


A nation that kills it's own children is a nation without hope-Pope John Paul II

Don't deny your baby the right to life.

Strength and Hope

I'd like to dedicate this blog to any woman fighting a battle, but most importantly to those who have had to fight and survive sexual assault and rape, this topic is normally shunned and therefore not enough awareness is given to it. Any woman who has had to endure the horror of this brutal act and has overcome and become stronger is a true surviver. Sexual assault and rape is a tragic and awful nightmare that any woman can experience and those who have had to experience it, have to fight the battle of overcoming it everyday. One of the strongest women I know has experienced this nightmare and though it's been years and years since this tragic act she still fights to overcome but everyday her fight makes her stronger and she holds all of my respect. So let us remember the teal ribbon and help to bring awareness for those women who have had and for those who are still fighting the battle of sexual assault and rape.



In a few weeks, I'll be getting this ribbon inked, to bring awareness and to show my love and support to the strongest woman i know and to let her know that she's never alone. 

As women we are all in this together.

Trains, Veils & Happy days

Today was my last bridal gown fitting before the big day. Every time I see that dress, I fall in love all over again, it was one of the first dresses I tried on and the only one I kept going back to. I adore it so much that I themed our entire wedding around it. A wedding dress is the only dress that could make a girl feel like a princess and make her realize that happy endings are real and that Disney didn't make that stuff up. So
bride-to-be's take your time, try on loads and make sure the choice is yours and only yours, trust me when you find the "one" you'll know it!

Mint, Rum & Weekend Lovin'

It's finally the weekend and what better way to unwind after a long week than with a nice tall glass of something cold and alcohol soaked. Mojito's are my drink of choice this weekend and it's looking to be a fabulous one.

What you'll need 
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, plus sprigs for garnish
2 limes, cut into wedges, plus more for garnish
2 cups crushed ice, plus more for serving
1 cup Lime-Mint Syrup, (recipe follows)
1 liter white rum
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
Club soda
Muddle the mint leaves and lime wedges with 2 cups crushed ice in the bottom of a large pitcher. Add Lime-Mint Syrup, rum, lime juice, and more ice. Top off with club soda, to taste. Pour into glasses over ice and serve. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and mint sprigs, if desired.

Lime-Mint Syrup:

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
2 limes, zested
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves

Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove from the heat, stir in the lime zest and mint, and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to infuse the syrup with the flavor of lime and mint. Strain out the mint and zest and refrigerate the syrup, covered, until cold.

Faded and Beautiful

I'm fascinated with any and everything vintage. It just amazes me to think that something that I'm now calling my vintage treasure was once something brand new. From the Jewelery to Furniture, items that had a past life simply make me smile. We're currently shopping around for pieces of art for our home and I'm looking out for that perfect faded, torn and well lived piece of artwork, something representing the high quality of a past time.
What a treat it would be to go back to a time where everything vintage was new and to see what stories these pieces of treasure have lived through.

There's something about this picture that makes me happy, maybe it's the lace or the beautifully carved chair or perhaps it's just knowing that love has always been around.

Ooh the sweetest thing

Falling in love is the most beautiful thing that a person can experience. Falling in love with someone, is giving your heart to that person and trusting them to keep it safe and as strong as that trust may sound there is something stronger, Falling in love with your soul mate..Falling in love with your soul mate, is giving your soul and heart to another soul who shares a connection to yours like nothing you've ever felt before, It is a feeling that cannot be explained and if I were to try to explain it, I wouldn't do it justice. It feels like you were together in a past life and have finally found each other again in a new one. Every day I thank God for allowing Anthony and myself to find each other again. I'm lucky and blessed to have found and fallen in love with my soul's other half.



If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. My first momma is carrying the miracle of life for the first time, while my other momma is carrying an angel for her second.
